I have loved nature since childhood, and have been inspired by the work of National Geographic photographer Jim Brandenburg, who so captured the essence of northern Minnesota where I grew up in the summertime that I was inspired to photograph nature in a similarly sensitive way. Today, I offer a line of nature images for purchase. I also shoot on-location, natural light photography of interesting people, places and things. Whether it's gardens, forests, mountains, lakes, beaches, or your own beautiful backyard, I can capture the essence of what you love with my camera. I will work with you to discover how to turn your passions into works of art. Please contact me at cathy@littlemonarchstudios.com if you are interested in ordering a custom nature canvas print for your home, or having a piece commissioned especially for you.

My canvas creators use Epson printers with 1440 dpi, rich color archival inks, and UV protective coatings guaranteed to last for at least 75 years. Their work is all acid-free. All canvases are mounted on wood frames, and feature the thick, 1.5" Gallery Wrap. The printers use a process called giclée, which means "to squirt" and is pronounced 'ghee-clay'. The printers digitally dispense tiny squirts of ink onto canvas or paper in a million droplets per second. This produces a print with a resolution higher than the traditional lithograph and with a wider color gamut than serigraphy. Giclée printing is superior to a standard printer because large industrial printers have finer print heads. Also, the ink is of a much higher quality than standard printer ink. Today, much of the limited edition art in galleries is produced using giclée, and many top name artists use this superior printing method.
